This is by far our most favorite spot in the Animal Kingdom. Connected to Tiffin’s Restaurant, the Nomad Lounge is relaxing, thematic, and provides excellent service–as well as food and drinks. To find the Nomad Lounge, hang a left at the tree of life and head straight towards Avatar. Nomad Lounge is on the right just behind Tiffins. The best way to make sure you get in is to join the “walk up” list from the Disney app. You can join as soon as you enter the parking lot and the wait is usually around 45 minutes which is perfect for getting into the park!

So what is so special about this place? Well the overall ambiance is amazing. This is one of those example of how Disney goes above and beyond. Even though most of the guests entering are wearing the classic Disney attire and sweating through every inch of it, the Nomad is set up like a very classy little lounge. You can sit on comfy couches or wicker chairs outside, or enjoy the tables and/or bar inside. Outside, you have a perfect view of the river where characters ride by on boats every so often. But enough about ambiance…let’s talk about the good stuff. Food and drinks!

The Nomad has a full bar so you can order anything you want. As with my previous post about Wine Bar George, they also have a nice Pinotage (although you can buy the same bottle at your local ABC for the price of one glass). Since my photography skills are lacking and the menu is blurry, let me share my favorites with you.

The Lamu Libation is devine. What is in it you ask? Hell if I know but it’s good. It’s fruity but not too sweet, and if you ask for the “Steve special” they will add an extra shot on top. Who is Steve? Again, hell if I know but we met him there once and apparently he has his own drink named after him and it was good, so there you go. That’s the orange drink pictured above. The blue one is just a blue long island–nothing fancy but we added a blue glow cube so that made it extra special. The food posted is the charcuterie board. Not my favorite charcuterie but it’s still pretty good and for a nice price (considering Disney prices I mean.) It has nothing on WBG (see previous post) but it does the trick and is a nice snack. We have actually had all the small plates they serve and I cannot complain about any of them. They have ribs and sliders which are also served to you like you’re in a 4-5 star restaurant, rather than the Mickey t-shirt and fanny pack you know you’re sporting.

The above beautiful concoction is known as Jenn’s tattoo. It comes with an edible hibiscus flower and is made with Ketal One Vodka, watermelon, hibiscus, and lime juice. In other words, a perfect drink for a hot day. That’s a repeat of the charcuterie board and the amazing bread service. Oh my…the bread service is my favorite (only topped by the bread service as Sanaa–which will be another post). I’ve had it many, many times but have never paid enough attention to what breads they service or the sauces but I promise they are delicious. Everything they serve is good but of course, check out the menu for yourself and make your own decisions. You won’t be disappointed. If you are, just blame George the bartender. (Not George the server).
Ok fellow Disney food and drink lovers, I think that’s it for the Nomad Lounge. It’s a must do when you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom. When you go, make sure to tell them Megan sent you. Not one person there will have a clue who I am. (Funny girl am I).
As always,
Peace, love, and Mickey…
