Let’s Talk Wine Bar George

What better way to start off a Grown Ups guide to Disney than with one of my favorite restaurants and bars on property–Wine Bar George at Disney Springs.

Wine bar George has over 140 different wines to choose from and some delicious foods, including the best charcuterie board I’ve ever had! Although I haven’t eaten everything they have to offer, I will recommend what I like and give you some great ideas about what to try. The staff at WBG is also amazing. We have never had a bad experience. I will recommend bartender Bryce, and server Amanda, but mostly because I can’t remember the names of the others!

Ok, so food. Wow, I love food. WBG has an excellent brunch menu and can I just tell you that the chicken biscuit is phenomenal. Wow. There’s even an egg on top! Totally recommend, as well as the eggs benedict. Both were superb but honestly, everything on the menu looks great.

Not in the mood for a full meal? Well, let me tell you what you cannot pass up. Until a couple of years ago my fancy southern butt had no idea how to even pronounce charcuterie, much less had any idea what it was. I’d like to now call myself a charcuterie connoisseur of sorts–meaning I’ll eat any meat and cheese you present to me on a fancy plate. WBG, however, wins the charcuterie game. You can get a small plate or the BIG plate. I think the big plate is meant to be for a larger group of people but I can tear that bitch apart with only a smidge of help from a friend. Just look at this thing:

I love everything about this.

Finally, drinks. Oh man, they have it all. I have already mentioned over 140 wines, so if you like it, they have it. May I recommend the Pinotage? It’s hard to find around property but WBG has a great one. They will also make you any drink you like. So back to my earlier recommendation of Bryce the bartender…one day I wanted a spicy drink. I like a little spice in my life. There was nothing on the menu striking my fancy so bartender Bryce said he’d make me something. He handed me this pink concoction with jalapeno seeds floating on top. And it was good. So damn good! The perfect amount of spice, mixed with sweet…and I’d never had this drink so I asked him the name. “Fire water,” he tells me. Cool, so the next bar we hit up I request a fire water. (Insert confused look by bartender). Turns out said drink doesn’t exist. Bryce made it up and made up a name on the fly. Good on you Bryce. I later got the recipe from him…here you go.

So, ultimately, I have nothing but good things to say about Wine bar George. The food, the drinks, and staff are amazing. Go check them out the next time you are at Disney Springs. Tell them Megan sent you. (Not one person there will have a clue who I am.)

Peace, Love, and Mickey…

M.
